Dynamics of energy transfer of a dioxolane-substituted pentacene dispersed in 4,4-bis[N-1-naphthyl-N-phenylamino]biphenyl
Article Abstract:
Fast and efficient Forster energy transfer from a blue-emitting host (4,4-bis[N-1-naphthyl-N-phenylamino]biphenyl, alpha-NPD) to a red-emitting dioxolane-substituted pentacence derivative (2,2,10-tetraethyl-6-14-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl)-1,3,9,11-tetraoxadicyclopenta[b,m]pentacene, EtTP-5) is demonstrated. The concentrated films have shown less evidence of aggregation when EtTP-5 was dispersed in tris(quinolin-8-olato)aluminum(III), making alpha-NPD a superior host for the red emitting EtTP-5.

Photophysical properties of dioxolane-substituted pentacene derivatives dispersed in tris(quinolin-8-olato) aluminum (III)
Article Abstract:
The steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) of solid-state composite films containing the pentacene derivatives dispersed in tris(quinolin-8-olato) aluminium (III) (Alq3) is examined. Efficient energy transfer in composite films featuring [Alq.sub.3] host molecules and dioxolane-substituted pentacene guest molecules using a combination of steady-state and time-resolved PL spectroscopy is demonstrated.

Functionalized pentacene derivatives for use as red emitters in organic light-emitting diodes
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to investigate the effect of fictionalizing the phenyl groups of 6,13-diphenylpentacene (DPP) in the ortho- and para-positions on its optical and electronic properties. The result found two pentacene derivatives of the phenyl group relative to the point of attachment to the pentacene unit.
